How to Care for Your Quality Office Seating

If you’re looking for quality office seating that will last, there are a few things you need to keep in mind when it comes to care and maintenance. With a little bit of effort, you can keep your office seating looking and feeling like new for years to come.

  1. Avoid Direct Sunlight

One of the worst things about office seating is direct sunlight. The UV rays can fade and damage the fabric or leather, make it look old and worn before its time. If your office seating is in a sunny spot, consider adding some window coverings to help protect it.

  1. Vacuum Regularly

Even if your office seating doesn’t get a lot of use, it can still accumulate dust and dirt over time. Vacuuming regularly will help to keep it clean and free of dirt, dust, and pet hair.

  1. Spot Clean as Needed

Spills and stains are inevitable, but they don’t have to ruin your office seating. As soon as a spill happens, blot it up with a clean, dry cloth. For tougher stains, you may need to use a mild cleaning solution. Be sure to test any cleaner on an inconspicuous spot first to make sure it won’t damage the fabric or leather. To remove persistent spots, apply a small amount of leather cleaner and use a clean, dry cloth to rub it in circles.

  1. Have it Professionally Cleaned

Even with regular vacuuming and spot cleaning, your quality office seating in Houston will eventually need a deep cleaning. Leather seating should be cleaned and conditioned every six to 12 months, and fabric seating should be cleaned every three to six months.

  1. Protect it from pets

If you have pets, they can be one of the biggest threats to your office seating. Pets can shed, track in dirt and mud, and even have accidents on your seating. To protect it, keep pets off of the furniture and vacuum regularly to remove pet hair.

  1. Don’t Forget the Arms and Legs

The arms and legs of office seating can be forgotten when it comes to cleaning, but they need some attention, too. Vacuum and dust them regularly, and wipe them down with a damp cloth as needed.

  1. Rotate and Fluff Cushions

Over time, cushions can become flat and lumpy. To keep them looking and feeling their best, rotate and fluff them on a regular basis. The degree of fluffing may vary depending on the type of fabric or material used but try to do it every couple of weeks.
